Monday's School Board Meeting will be held at SVMS in the LGI Room beginning at 6:30 p.m. On the agenda is the recommendation from the School Facilities Advisory Committee regarding the elementary consolidation plan.

Reminder to SVCS Community: No school this Friday or next Monday. Friday is a scheduled school break and Monday is President's Day. Enjoy your 4-day weekend!

Reminder! Every school year, students entering kindergarten, 6th grade, and 12th grade require certain vaccinations and booster shots before entering those specific grade levels. If your 5th grader is already 11 years old, they can go ahead and get their Tdap and MCV4 (meningococcal) vaccines for 6th grade. For high school students over 16 years of age, they can go ahead and get their required MCV4 booster shot in preparation for their senior year. Appointments take time to schedule, so please start making plans now with your doctor, VPCHC Mobile Health Bus, or local health department to get these state-required school vaccinations! If you need more information, please reach out to your school nurse.

🍋📖Our One School One Book project is underway in our 3 elementary schools this month. All students and staff are reading The Lemonade War by Jacqueline Davies. A summary from bookrags.com states, "This fictional novel addresses the complex relationship between brothers and sisters, as well as how arguments can spiral out of control when people quit communicating with each other. In the end, the siblings realize that working together is better than working against each other." 🍋📚Our students are learning the basics of economics, entrepreneurial skills, marketing, competition, and even forgiveness while reading this book at home with their families (or by listening to the chapter recordings via Canvas). 📖TODAY IS WORLD READ ALOUD DAY!📖 Help us kick off our annual One School One Book project on behalf of all South Vermillion K-5 students and staff by commenting a book title that you remember someone reading aloud to you when you were in elementary school!!! In the month of February, we are all reading the same book: The Lemonade War by Jacqueline Davies.

SVCS Schools will be operating on a 2-Hour Delay tomorrow (Thursday).

SV Schools are closed today. This is a Snow Day and will be made up on May 24th. Should school be canceled again tomorrow, please be prepared as it will be an eLearning Day.

UPDATE: A determination will be made early tomorrow morning prior to 6:00 a.m. to assure that the correct decision is made on whether we will have school or not due to forecasted weather and the timing of it. Stay tuned...
