September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The SV Wildcats Football team and SV Touchdown Club do all we can to support the cause and bring awareness. Coach Barrett and his wife Molly have established the PS We Love You Fund to give back to Riley Children's Hospital to help provide testing in the Pediatric Precision Genomics Program. The SV Touchdown Club would like to challenge each SV school to have a Hat Day this coming Friday, Sept. 8th with all the proceeds benefiting the PS We Love You Fund. We will announce the school that raises the most money at the game on Saturday night!
It's National Substitute Appreciation Week! We are thankful for our substitute teachers every day at Van Duyn Elementary but want to extend a special thanks to all of them on the week set aside to recognize substitute teachers everywhere! Thank you, thank you, thank you to our subs!

Friday, August 25th is our first "SV Gives Back" drive. Students can wear a hat for $1.
All profits will benefit the BackPack program. All four schools will participate in this event each month with our proceeds being pooled together and given to a non-profit in our community.
We are so thankful for all of the support from our community that SV wants to do something to "give back" and say thank you.
Starting Monday, August 21st, all students riding Bus #1 (Kim Benton, driver) will be picked up each morning approximately 10 minutes earlier.
An email was also sent to all parents of students riding bus #1.

Sheepdog Coffee Company will be on our lot this Friday, August 11th from 7:15-8:30 AM. Please feel free to stop on your way to work or when dropping off your student to make a purchase and have a caffeinated day!
Meet the Teacher Night is almost here! Students and families are welcome from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 7th at Van Duyn. Students may bring supplies with them that evening.
If you have a student enrolling this year (Kindergarten or older), please be sure to go to https://harmony.svcs.k12.in.us/familyaccess.nsf/hello.xsp to enroll your child as soon as possible. If you already have other children at South Vermillion, you can login to your Harmony Family account and add a new enrollment (under Manage Account).
Once your child's enrollment is approved, you will receive an email with a registration code so that you can go back into Harmony and complete the registration process.
