Summer Lunch
Menu
The state of Indiana recently announced a new summer food program called SUN Bucks, which helps families in need buy food during the summer when school is out. Children are eligible for the program if: ✔️The household already participates in SNAP, TANF, or income-based Medicaid, or ✔️The student has been identified as a ward of the state (foster child), homeless, migrant, or ✔️The student lives in a home where the household income meets the free or reduced-price school meals requirements. The benefits will be provided to eligible families on a separate EBT card and mailed directly to their homes. Benefits can be used at authorized retailers, like grocery stores and farmers' markets, to purchase healthy foods, such as fruits, vegetables, meats, and other protein sources, whole grains, and dairy. These benefits are available in addition to free meals that children of all ages can get at our summer meals program. Children identified as receiving free/reduced meals will automatically receive SUN Bucks cards, which will be mailed to the address we have on file for your household. To review or update your address, please log in to Harmony Family Access and verify your address. You can update your address on Harmony or contact your child’s school for assistance. Address corrections must be made before Wednesday, May 1, to guarantee that cards are sent to the correct address. If your child is not already eligible for free/reduced meals but you would like to check eligibility, you can do so on the SUN Bucks website (https://indianasunbucks.com/home). For questions, please contact our Food Service Director, Amanda Myers, at [email protected].

Good afternoon! Per the CDC and Vermillion County Health Department, testing positive for COVID will no longer require a 5-day isolation. COVID will now be treated like all other respiratory viruses and return to school will now be based on symptoms and/or symptom improvement, along with being fever-free for 24 hours without the use of medication. *If you test positive for COVID, you should stay home for 24 hours after your symptoms start to improve and make sure you are fever free for 24 hours without the use of medication prior to returning to activities. Taking additional precautions for 5 days upon return, such as masking and distancing, should be considered but will not be required.

COVID will now be treated like all other respiratory viruses and return to work and school will now be based on symptoms and/or symptom improvement, along with being fever-free for 24 hours without the use of medication. *If you are symptomatic and test positive for COVID, you can return to normal activities when, for at least 24 hours, you have started to feel better and your overall symptoms are improving. As with any virus, you should also be fever free for 24 hours without the use of medication before returning to school. Taking additional precautions for 5 days upon return, such as masking and distancing, should be considered but will not be required. Hope you all have a great weekend!

The Hidden in Plain Sight (HIPS) trailer will be parked at SVMS on Wednesday, Feb. 28th from 2:00-5:00 PM. Parents/guardians of SV students are invited to stop by for a 15-minute tour of the trailer. This is a traveling, hands-on, interactive exhibit/program designed to help adults recognize unfamiliar signs of substance misuse or risky behaviors that are often "hidden in plain sight". The HIPS Trailer is sponsored by Hamilton Center.
