Dear Central Elementary Community,
As many of you are aware, there was an emergency situation, during the time of drop-off, at a neighboring home that required emergency staff being called to the scene. This was a non-school related incident that was quickly determined not to be a threat to student and staff safety. We are currently in our lockdown with instruction protocols (meaning no outside morning recess) until we are provided the all clear to resume normal activities by the emergency personnel and Clinton City Police.

Transportation Letter
Good afternoon. I want to welcome everyone back to the start of a new school year and share some important upcoming dates. I am officially back in the office as of today along with our secretary, Becky Haltom, and treasurer, Janice Bazzani.
As we will be welcoming some new families from VD and EP this year, I would like to give a brief introduction. This will be my 13th year having the privilege of being the principal at Central Elementary. I'm married and have two daughters. In my spare time, I enjoy fishing, hunting and spending time with my family. I love my job and being a part of this school and community! I can't wait to meet all the new faces and see the familiar ones again.
Important Dates:
*Online registration is open today. You can access Harmony through the South Vermillion website, www.svcs.k12.in.us, to complete the process.
*Aug. 2nd from 1:00-6:00 will be an in-person registration day for those needing assistance. This will take place at Central. We will have a few computers set up to help you go through the online registration process. This must be done yearly.
*Aug. 7th from 5:00-6:00 will be a Meet the Teacher Night. It will be an open house format where families can come in to see their classroom and meet their teacher. They can also drop off any supplies.
*Aug. 8th- First Day of School!
More detailed information regarding school procedures and happenings will be coming. For now, take care and enjoy the rest of the summer!

Daisy just had a birthday! Our sweet girl turned one on Saturday. She will go through her full certification training later this month to be ready for the start of school. Look closely to see her little bday party hat!
Chase was selected to win Central's lemonade stand after completing 21 "Lemonade Day" lessons through the Wabash Valley Lemonade Day. Congrats Chase!
SV Summer Lunch Program
Tomorrow is FIELD DAY!! Students need to bring a change of clothes and a towel as some of the activities will involve water. Sunscreen would be a good idea as well. Rest up for the big day everyone!

The Central staff continued their winning ways with their 12th annual victory in the staff vs. student kickball game. Coincidence that Mr. Jenkins is in his 12th year at Central???? It was a great time, and there was great sportsmanship on both sides.
The Beasts 2.0 were victorious as the student champions in our recent dodgeball tournament! Congratulations Beasts! Unfortunately, they were not able to celebrate for long as the staff continued their streak of winning against the student champions.
